Richard H. Tashjian
(Born Chelsea, Massachusettes 1927)

Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts. in 1926, Richard served in the U.S.N.R. World War II 1944-46 as a photographer and later graduated from the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, 1950. He studied design under Prof. Gyorgy Kepes at M.I.T. School of Visual Design Architectural Center Cambridge, MA. Richard’s talents resulted in a successful career in advertising art, where he worked as a commercial artist and art director for various distinguished ad agencies throughout the Boston area. For several years, he owned and operated an art studio and gallery in Watertown, MA.

While continuing to depict nature in his harmonious style that utilizes layers of color. He brings a passion for the natural world and international perspective to his paintings. His brush has rendered scenes in the Crimea and the south of France. Having moved to Santa Fe New Mexico recently he has already made canyons, mesas and skies of the Southwest his own.
