Girard Edmond was born in Paris in 1892 and was a member of the Parlor of Independents since 1927. Edmond was the social chair of the Parlor of Fall, Engraving section, and member/founder of the Society of Painters-Independent Engravers and Lithographers.
Edmond had multiple exhibitions in Paris such as Galerie Avile. Dupuis, Barreiro, Synthèse, L’Archipel, Galerie de la Cite. He also had other exhibits outside of Paris such as : Charpentier, Bernheim,Limoges,Saints-Etienne, Roanne, San-Francisco, Buenos-Ayres, and Bogota.
Numerous works by the artist were purchased by the city of Paris and by the “Print Room” (“Cabinet des Estampes”); The “Print Room” is a collection located in a museum in Strasbourg that consists of fine art, prints, and sketches that date back from the 16th century.

Various authors have published biographies about the artist. George Turpin in “The Blooming Picture Rails”, Jean-Daniel in “Painting 40” and “Portfolio of the North” and Robert Valette in “Montmarte at Montparnasse”

Edmond has illustrated in the books: La Maison du Peuple (House of the Pope) by de Louis Guilloux, La Femme de trente ans (The 30-year old woman) by Balzac, Vent d’Est (Wind of the East) by Pearl Buck, Vent d’Ouest(Wind of the West), and Le Club des Lyonnais (The Club of the Lyonnais) by Duhamel.
